Spanish for Educators
Language teachers at Spanish Language Institute.
Special courses are offered for teachers who have been teaching other languages and who are now being asked to teach Spanish language classes.
Both the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP) and the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL)
offer scholarships to language teachers to study at Spanish Language Institute.
Academic credit is available for all teachers who study with Spanish Language Institute.
Spanish Language Institute has agreements with many school systems in the United States including some of the largest school districts in the country.
Every summer Spanish Language Institute offers clasess for educators, on a variety of topics of interest to teachers who want to bring the culture of Mexico
into their classrooms. The activities include classes, readings, foods, art, music, and field study excursions.
Marta Andrade, a master teacher and a frequent presenter, will encourage teachers to use their knowledge of Spanish to build relationships across disciplines.
Marta will include tried-and-true ideas for the classroom, which can be adapted to any level. Marta will integrate lectures, discussions, readings and projects,
along with a variety of assessments that are contemporary and practical.

Spanish for Advanced Spanish, an ongoing educational opportunity.
Laura Ramos has conducts special classes for advanced speakers of Spanish who want to refine and polish their Spanish speaking and writing.
Indicate on your registration form that you are fluent in Spanish. Requirements for all classes include attendance and participation in the classes,
participation in the cultural activities and visits, some readings and short essays, an exam, and a research style paper to be completed.
In some cases, you may receive materials to read before the start of the program.
The Intensive Spanish for ESL is designed to supplement and perfect the Spanish language skills of teachers who interact with students who speak Spanish
as their native language.
ASLI-Spanish Language Institute In addition, focuses on the study and practice of specialized vocabulary for use in and out of the classroom.
The aim is to provide this vocabulary for both formal and informal conversation in communicative contexts related to the specific content area.
There are complimentary activities included in the program which are designed to give further exposure to the language.
K12 Academics
We all know about the debate at the highest levels across the United States about using only English in the classroom or whether it is appropriate to teach
children in their home language. Regardless of how this debate is resolved, a teacher who hopes to reach students in the most positive way possible will want to
learn the basics (and even beyond) of the home language of the students. Spanish Language Institute offers special programming for teachers, which includes
basic Spanish classes, additional appropriate vocabulary classes for educators, administrators and professional visits to schools and other types of educational
centers in Cuernavaca. .(make sure you come before schools close for the summer) Information about Mexico before the Conquest which has been gained in
Spanish language classes and on field trips to present ideas about how this information can be best utilized in the classroom.
We are happy to help teachers develop Mexican resourses tools to use in their classrooms.

GROUP PROGRAMS FOR EDUCATORS
I work with many educators who want to return and bring a group of teachers or students with them. I would be delighted to work with you if you are interested in developing a group of teachers from your school system or professional education association, and I will help you develop a free structure that will make your own study program very low in cost.
I will work with you to plan special activities to be included in the total educational program. Special Fees for groups.
Each group is treated separately; no two programs need be the same. And all study programs of two weeks or more can be considered appropriate for
academic credit, graduate or undergraduate.
